TeleServices Direct conducts an annual telephone survey of entertainment trends in the US. The general survey addresses trends in cable/satellite television, radio, newspaper and magazine. Survey lists are geographically and demographically chosen at random.
- Only 30% of survey responders have a DVR
- Only 10-20% of responders have premium channels
- Only 20-30% of responders have a high definition TV
- Over 25% of responders watch NO TV; the remaining average 2-3 hours per day
- Price is clearly the most important factor in choosing a cable / satellite provider
- Approx 30% of responders listen to NO radio; the remaining average 1-2 hours per day
- Approx 20% of responders subscribe to a newspaper
- Approx 15% of responders subscribe to one (or more) magazine
- Over 20% of responders surf the internet for more than 5 hours a day
