2011 Consumer Entertainment Summary Results
TeleServices Direct conducts an annual telephone survey of entertainment trends in the US. The general survey addresses trends in cable/satellite television, radio, newspaper and magazine.
- Over 60% of survey responders have a DVR
- Approx. 30% of responders pay for premium channels
- Approx. 30% of responders pay for basic cable
- Close to 70% of responders have a high definition TV
- Responders average 2-3 hours of TV per day
- Price is clearly the most important factor in choosing a cable / satellite provider
- Approx. 40% of responders listen to 0-1 hour of radio per day; the remaining average 1-2 hours per day
- Approx. 40% of responders subscribe to a newspaper
- Approx. 40% of responders subscribe to one (or more) magazine
- Responders surf the internet either for 1-2 hours or for 5+ hours a day

2011 Utility Survey Results
In 2011 TeleServices Direct began an annual telephone survey of utility provider trends. The survey only called individuals located in deregulated states.
- 75% of survey responders were homeowners
- 45% suburban, 30% city and 20% rural
- Only 13% of survey responders changed their utility company in the past 24 months
- Over 40% would consider changing their utility provider with a lower rate
- Responders receive few solicitations to change utility companies.
